steps to Recover APPS password in R12.2.X

If we forget/ lost the apps password for r12.2.X instance. please follow below steps to recover the APPS password

Step A : Login to DB server

sqlplus / as sysdba

STEP B : we have to Create Function for to decrypt the encrypted password

SQL> create FUNCTION apps.decrypt_pin_func(in_chr_key IN VARCHAR2,in_chr_encrypted_pin IN VARCHAR2)

RETURN VARCHAR2

AS

LANGUAGE JAVA NAME 'oracle.apps.fnd.security.WebSessionManagerProc.decrypt(java.lang.String,java.lang.String) return java.lang.String';

Function created

STEP C : Query for encrypted password

SQL> select ENCRYPTED_FOUNDATION_PASSWORD from apps.fnd_user where USER_NAME='GUEST';

Output

ENCRYPTED_FOUNDATION_PASSWORD

STEP D: Query for decrypt the password

SELECT apps.decrypt_pin_func('GUEST/ORACLE','ZASDFSDDS98DFGDUIFGKJDFGKJDF45343J5K345464LJKDFG09RGURIGJFGLKFJH04JOK048YURJTOKGRG04ROIJRT0IOUYJ') from dual;

Output

APPS.DECRYPT_PIN_FUNC('GUEST/ORACLE','ZASDFSDDS98DFGDUIFGKJDFGKJDF45343J5K345464LJKDFG09RGURIGJFGLKFJH04JOK048YURJTOKGRG04ROIJRT0IOUYJ')

cloneapps

STEP E: Test apps password With the password as above mentioned

SQL> conn apps/cloneapps

Connected.

STEP F: Validation went successfull, os this is the way to retain password back.
